Abstract
According to (SNI-2847: 2013) concrete is a mixture of portland cement or other hydraulic cement, coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, and water, with or without additional materials that harden in a certain ratio. Concrete is also an important construction in buildings, both buildings, water structures, transportation facilities and other buildings.
Many aspects must be considered to make concrete with good quality. One of them is the stirring time and the level of engine rotation speed. The time and the low speed level result in the concrete mix not being evenly mixed, but if it is too high it will also result in viscosity and the concrete loses water.
Based on these problems, it is necessary to analyze the effect of differences in the duration of stirring and rotational speed on the slump and compressive strength values. This research includes testing the characteristics of the aggregate material, concrete mix design (Mix Design), the process of making concrete, concrete treatment, and testing of specimens which include slump test and compressive strength test.
From the results of the study it can be concluded that at low speed rotation, the longer the stirring time will increase the compressive strength value and will decrease the concrete slump value. At medium speed rotation, the compressive strength value will increase and then decrease while the slump value will decrease. At high speed rotation, the value of compressive strength and slump of concrete both will experience a considerable decrease over time. The compressive strength above the plan is found in variations of 7 minutes of low rotation (7R) of 18.68 MPa, 10 minutes of low rotation (10R) of 23.99 MPa, and 7 minutes of medium rotation (7S) of 18.74 MPa. Therefore, a high speed mixer is not recommended because it can reduce the quality of the concrete. For low and medium speeds, it can still be applied by taking into account the length of stirring time.
