Post-Publication Discussion

Scholarly debate after publication is welcome, and it should be constructive, evidence-based and visible. Integrity concerns (misconduct, fabrication, plagiarism) are not handled here; they follow the Allegations of Research Misconduct policy.

Comments and replies

  • Readers may submit a Comment (a short critical discussion of a published article) within 12 months of publication.
  • Comments must be 800–1,500 words, engage with the article's argument, method or evidence, cite sources, and avoid personal attacks, defamation or political agitation.
  • Submit through OJS using the article type "Comment", or by email to aan@unsiq.ac.id

Process

  1. An editor not involved in the original article screens the comment for relevance and tone, within 14 days.
  2. Suitable comments are sent to the original authors, who are invited to reply within 30 days. Authors may decline.
  3. The comment and the reply are reviewed by the editor (and, where needed, one external reviewer) for accuracy and civility.
  4. Accepted comments and replies are published together as a labelled article type with their own DOI, bidirectionally linked to the original article.
  5. The original article is not altered because of a comment. If the discussion reveals an error, the correction policy applies.

In the case of comments published in third-party platforms (social media, blogs, etc), the journal is not responsible for their content but may review substantiated concerns raised there under the misconduct policy.

Right of reply

The original authors always have the right to reply to a published Comment, in the same issue wherever possible.
