Allegations of Research Misconduct
Resolusi follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidance and investigates concerns in a fair, confidential and documented way. This gives authors a chance to respond before any decision.
What this policy covers
Fabrication or falsification of data, sources or interview material; image manipulation; plagiarism and duplicate publication; authorship manipulation; fabricated or manipulated peer review (fake reviewer identities, review rings); undisclosed competing interests; research without required ethical approval or informed consent; breaches of confidentiality; citation manipulation; paper-mill or contract-written submissions; and misconduct by editors or reviewers.
How to raise a concern
Anyone may report a concern, before or after publication, by email to the Editor-in-Chief's address (aan@unsiq.ac.id). Please give the article title or DOI, a description of the concern and any evidence. Anonymous reports may be considered if they are specific and supported by evidence. Reporters acting in good faith are protected from retaliation.
Procedure
- Acknowledgement within 10 working days.
- Initial assessment by the Editor-in-Chief and a second editor who is not involved in the article, to decide whether the concern is credible and falls under this policy. Editors with a conflict of interest are excluded.
- Notification and response. The authors (or the editor or reviewer concerned) are informed, shown the substance of the concern, and given 21 days to reply and to provide original data, notes, permissions or ethics documents.
- The journal may ask for original data or raw files, consult expert advisers or the editorial board, run further similarity or image checks, and contact the authors' institution, funder or ethics committee. The journal does not itself determine misconduct that requires a formal institutional inquiry, but it can decide on the status of the article.
- Decision by the Editor-in-Chief, with documented reasons. Expected time: within 3 months of acknowledgement; longer cases are reported to the complainant.
- Outcome and communication. The authors and the complainant are informed.
Possible outcomes
- No action, with a reply to the concerned parties
- Request for clarification, extra data or a revised manuscript
- Editor's Note or Expression of Concern attached to the article
- Correction or Retraction (see Correction and Retraction)
- Notification of the authors' institution, funder or ethics committee
- Temporary or permanent ban on submission, and removal from reviewer or editorial roles for those involved
The reason for any action is stated in the published notice. Authors may appeal under the Appeals and Complaints process described on the Review Process Policy page.
Confidentiality and records
All parties' identities and the evidence are kept confidential, shared only with those who need to know.
