Peer Review

Peer Review Process

All research articles submitted to Journal of Economic, Business and Engineering (JEBE) are peer reviewed before publication. The journal uses double-anonymous (double-blind) peer review: the identities of the authors and of the reviewers are concealed from each other.

  1. The editors check each submission for scope, formatting and originality, including the similarity screening described under Plagiarism Screening.
  2. Manuscripts that pass are sent to two independent reviewers with expertise in the topic, who have no affiliation with the authors and no competing interest.
  3. Reviewers are asked to return their assessment within three weeks and to recommend whether to accept, require revisions, resubmit for review, or decline the manuscript.
  4. The editor-in-chief decides on the basis of the reviews and informs the authors, sending the reviewers' comments without revealing who wrote them.
  5. Revised manuscripts are checked against the reviewers' comments before acceptance.

Editors and reviewers must declare competing interests (see Publication Ethics) and treat manuscripts as confidential.
