Editorial timeline: from submission to publication

The journal aims to take a manuscript from submission to online publication in about 10 to 16 weeks. These are target times, not guarantees: the total depends on the time authors take to revise and on the publication schedule (two issues a year (April and October)).

Stage	Target time
Submission, acknowledgement, editorial check and Turnitin similarity screening (20% threshold)	about 1 week
Double-anonymous peer review by two independent reviewers	3 weeks
Editorial decision (accept, revise or reject)	about 1 week after the reviews
Revision by the authors	about 2 weeks
Check of the revised manuscript and acceptance	about 1 week
Production: copyediting, layout, proofreading and DOI registration	2 to 3 weeks
Publication online in the next issue	according to the issue schedule
