Authorship Criteria
Authorship in Resolusi is based on substantive intellectual contribution and accountability. Every listed author must meet all of the following conditions:
- Made a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the work, or to the acquisition, analysis or interpretation of data, documents or sources;
- Drafted the manuscript or revised it critically for important intellectual content;
- Approved the final version submitted and the version to be published; and
- Agreed to be accountable for all aspects of the work, including investigating and resolving questions about accuracy or integrity.
Holding a position (head of department, supervisor, funder, data collector, translator or technician) shall not by itself a ground for authorship. Such contributions belong in the Acknowledgements. Where possible, every article shall include a statement of individual contributions.
Generative AI and authorship
Generative AI tools (such as large language models) cannot be listed as authors because they cannot take responsibility for the work or approve a final version. Use of such tools must be disclosed clearly (i.e. at the Acknowledgment part).
Submission requirements
- The manuscript has not been published before and is not under consideration for publication anywhere else.
- All authors are listed at submission with full name (without titles), affiliation, and email address.
- One corresponding author is designated; he or she communicates with the journal
- All co-authors have seen and approved the manuscript.
- Author order should reflect relative contribution unless the authors state otherwise. The order is agreed by the authors, not decided by the journal.
Changes to the author list
- Before acceptance: Adding, removing or reordering authors requires a written request from the corresponding author stating the reason, plus signed or emailed agreement from every author affected, including anyone being removed.
- Changes after acceptance or publication shall not be made. Changes are made only in exceptional cases through a published Correction (see Correction and Retraction). The same agreement from all authors is required.
- Disputes among authors are not resolved by the journal; the editors will pause the process and ask the authors' institution to adjudicate, following COPE guidance.
Prohibited practices
Resolusi prohibits ghost authorship (omitting someone who qualifies), gift or guest authorship (including someone who does not qualify), selling or buying authorship, use of paper mills or third-party writing services, and adding authors in order to inflate a CV or institutional score. Detected cases are handled under the Allegations of Misconduct policy.
Student and supervisor work
Theses and dissertations may be adapted for publication. The student is normally first author; a supervisor is listed only if the criteria above are met. Authors must state that the article derives from a thesis or dissertation.
