Abstrak

Perlunya kesesuaian cara mengajar dosen dan persepsi mahasiswa menjadi sebuah perhatian yang sangat penting dalam rangka untuk menciptakan pembelajaran yang efektif dan menyenagkan. Penelitian dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui pengembangan model pembelajaran bahasa Arab di Pusat Pengembangan Bahasa IAIN Padangsidimpuan dan persepsi mahasiswa terhadap model tersebut. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif yaitu menggali data penelitian dengan teknik observasi, wawancara dan penyebaran angket. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan dengan metode non probabilitas sampling dengan pendekatan convenience sampling. Jumlah anggota populasi yang bersedia menjadi responden sebanyak 162 mahasiswa yang terdiri dari berbagai Fakultas di IAIN Padangsidimpuan yang sudah mengikuti kelas intensif bahasa Arab. Data yang di kumpulkan kemudian di analisis dengan menggunakan analisis kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data kualitatif di analisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif sedangkan data angket menggunakan analisi rumus statistik persentase. Setelah pengolahan data penelitian di dapatkan hasil bahwa model pembelajaran bahasa Arab adalah model Contectual Teaching and learning (CTL) dan diretc method. Persepsi mahasiswa dari penerapan model pembelajaran tersebut masih dalam kategori baik karena setelah proses belajar sebagian besar menyatakan menarik, walaupun pada aspek metode yang sudah di terapkan masih mengharapkan adanya pengembangan yang lebih baik. Dari hasil penelitian ini peneliti merekomendasikan pengembangan model pembelajaran kearah yang lebih baik sampai menemukan model pembelajaran yang dapat menjadikan mahasiswa lebih nyaman dalam menikmati pembelajaran. selain mengembangkan model pembelajaran juga di anggap penting untuk menguji efektivitas model Contectual Teaching and learning (CTL) dan diretc method.
