Keseteraan Gender Prespektif M. Quraish Shihab dalam Tafsir Al-Misbah
(Studi Analisis Semiotik Charles Sanders Pierce)
Abstract
This research departed from the community's view of the cause of gender inequality in Islam is a patriarchal culture which is characterized by male dominance in education and science. Male interpreters of the Koran still rarely pay attention to the feminist aspects or fight for the interests of women. This happened in a very long time and may have settled and become a belief for centuries. Departing from the above assumption, it can be concluded that one of the factors of discrimination against women is caused by interpretations that are biased in partihiarchy and do not provide a portion of justice and women's rights in equality. In the current era, studies and research in the field of contemporary Qur'anic commentary require an epistemology of interpretation that is more relevant, dynamic and solutive. By using semiotics, it can bring new understanding and careful analysis of methods so that the link between the interpreter of the Koran and the Muslim perspective produces a product of interpretation that is biased by men so that there is a restraint on the norms of justice and egalitarian nature which are women's rights, which are in the name of women. as a religious dogma or from the teachings of the Quránic.
