Complaints and appeals
Complaints about the editorial process or about an editorial decision may be sent to the Editor-in-Chief at ppkm@unsiq.ac.id. An author may appeal a decision once, in writing, giving reasons and supporting evidence. The Editor-in-Chief reviews the appeal together with editorial board members who were not involved in the original decision and replies in writing. The journal follows the guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Allegations of research misconduct
Allegations of misconduct, such as plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, duplicate submission or redundant publication, undisclosed competing interests, or authorship disputes, are investigated by the Editor-in-Chief following COPE guidance. The authors concerned are given the opportunity to respond. Depending on the outcome, the journal may reject the manuscript, publish a correction or retraction, and inform the authors' institution or funder.
Plagiarism screening
Authors must submit original work, free from plagiarism, self-plagiarism and duplicate submission. Jurnal Penelitian dan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat UNSIQ screens every submitted manuscript for text similarity with Turnitin. The journal applies a similarity threshold of 20%: manuscripts above this level are returned to the authors for revision or rejected by the editors. Cases of suspected plagiarism are handled as described under "Allegations of research misconduct" in Publication Ethics.
Competing interests
Authors must declare any financial, personal or professional relationship that could be seen to influence their work. Reviewers and editors must declare competing interests and decline to handle a manuscript where an impartial assessment is not possible.
Data sharing and reproducibility
Authors are encouraged to make the data supporting their findings openly available in a repository and to include a data availability statement in the article. Where data cannot be shared, the reason should be stated.
Ethical oversight
Research involving human participants must have been conducted with informed consent and, where required, approved by an ethics committee, and this must be stated in the article. Research involving animals must follow the applicable ethical guidelines and approvals.
Intellectual property
Authors must ensure that they hold the rights to everything they submit. Material from other sources must be credited and used with permission or under a legal exception, and any material not covered by the article's license must be clearly identified.
Post-publication discussion
Readers may send comments or concerns about a published article to ppkm@unsiq.ac.id. The Editor-in-Chief considers them, may invite the authors to respond, and may publish a correction.
Corrections and retractions
Errors that affect the understanding of an article are corrected by a published correction linked to the original article. Articles with serious problems (for example misconduct, major errors, or plagiarism) are retracted. A retraction notice states the reason, and retracted articles remain accessible and are clearly marked as retracted. Withdrawing a published article is limited to these cases, and no fee is charged.
Use of generative AI and automated tools
Authors: must disclose any use of generative AI in preparing the article beyond straightforward language correction, editing and formatting; are responsible for checking the validity of anything produced by automated tools; must not list AI tools as authors; and must not cite generative AI as a source.
Reviewers and editors: must not use generative AI to create their assessments or decisions, and must not upload manuscripts or review reports to AI tools, because of the risks to confidentiality, superficial or biased feedback, and false information. Editing or rewriting for language may be acceptable if disclosed. Any routine use of automated tools by the journal is disclosed and overseen by an editor.
