Abstract
This research is a library research with descriptive qualitative method from the point of view of communication theory. Academic problems are around communication between parents and children today. It is necessary to find a communication formula between parents and children that can be applied in the era of technological progress which is excavated from the communication pattern exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim. The results showed that the pattern of communication between parents and children in the family story of Prophet Ibrahim are as follows: First, the Equality Pattern as seen in Asy-Syu'ara (26):70 and ash-Shaffat (37):85, Second, asymmetric ABX models are seen in the dialogue between Prophet Ibrahim and Azar in al-Anbiya '(21):52 and as-Syu'ara (26):72-73. Third, Unbalanced Split Patterns happen between Prophet Ibrahim and his father in QS. Maryam (19): 42-45. The communication that occurs in the story of Prophet Ibrahim is categorized in the type of Intrapersonal communication which focuses on communication ethics as described in the Qur'an, including Qaulan Ma'rufa (kind words), Qaulan Sadida (right words), Qaulan Baligha (eloquent saying), Qaulan Karima (generous words), and Qaulan Layyina (soft words).
