<p><em>This research aims at analyzing the representation of sexism in Philipa Lowthorpe’s Misbehaviour (2020) and the society’s view towards women in the 1970</em><em>’</em><em>s in Philipa Lowthorpe’s Misbehaviour (2020).</em> <em>This research uses a descriptive qualitative method to analyze the film of Misbehaviour (2020) directed by Philipa Lowthorpe as the object</em> <em>research. The data collection methods include watching, reading, identifying, classifying, and selecting. The researcher utilizes Peter Glick and Susan T. Fiske’s theory of Ambivalent Sexism to analyze the data through steps of displaying, explaining, and interpreting.</em> <em>The result of this research shows that: the representation of sexism in in Philipa Lowthorpe’s Misbehaviour (2020) includes hostile sexism behaviors such as women inferiority and sexual objectification, and also benevolent sexism behaviors like paternalism, gender differentiation, and heterosexuality, the society’s view towards women in the 1970s that still restricted and narrow includes the way the society perceives women through the lens of Miss World beauty pageant, the persistence of gender stereotypes that reinforced traditional roles, the acknowledgment of the Women’s Liberation Movement, and the media representation of women during that period.</em></p>Yusefa Laila SalmaLatifah Dwi Ariyani

This study examines the movie using a descriptive, qualitative approach entitled Anyone But You (2023) directed by Will Gluck as the objective research. The collecting data of the research method includes watching and reading, identifying, classifying, and selecting. The analyzing data of the research method by using displaying, explaining, and interpreting. <p><em>This study aims at analyzing the representation of Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy in Aneesh Chaganty’s Run, and the mental condition of the charachter who suffers from Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy in Aneesh Chaganty’s Run (2020). The method used in this research is qualitative approach. The object of this study is Aneesh Chaganty’s Run and the subject of this study is the dialogues between the characters and action pictures in Aneesh Chaganty’s Run. In collecting data, the techniques applied by the researcher are watching, reading, identifying, classifying, and selecting. To analyze the data, the researcher uses Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy study and Johari window’s theory of psychology. It is done through some steps as displaying, explaining, and interpreting. The result of this research shows that: first, the representations of Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy in the main character who suffers from Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy exists in this study. Those are; Striving to appear self-sacrificing and devoted, inducing symptom to her child, concerned about child’s health, being very knowledgeable about medical stuff, switch doctors and medical staff, falsifying diseases symptom. Second, the mental condition of the charachter who suffers from Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy reflect a balance and wholeness of her personality. <p><em>Deixis is discussed in this study. The Greek word for "pointing by language" is this one. Deixis existed in written or spoken language. For learners or English speakers to grasp, these items are crucial. The purpose of this study was to identify the many forms of deixis and their references in Gabriel's stand-up comedy We Have So Much in Common. In examining the information, the author applies George Yule's idea. The descriptive design of this study was implemented through the use of qualitative techniques and numerical data conversion. The movie was downloaded from Gabriel's YouTube channel in order to collect the statistics. Subsequently, the data is examined by watching the comedy show, writing down the subtitles, and categorizing the statements that contain deixis. The study's conclusions demonstrated that Gabriel used three different forms of deixis in his speech: person deixis, which appeared 674 times, spatial deixis, which occurred 254 times, and temporal deixis, which appeared 62 times. The kind of deixis most frequently encountered in person deixis. The use of personal deixis indicated the participant in this comedy show. While the spatial deixis indicated the location and place of the event from the participant. <p><em>This research is conducted to analyze the form of religious fanaticism of Irish society in 1862 depicted in Sebastian Lelio's The Wonder (2022) and the conflict that occurred between science and religion in the film The Wonder (2022) using the Roland Barthes model semiotic theory. There are two problem statements that the researcher uses in this study, the first is how is religious fanaticism represented in Irish society in 1862 in Sebastian Lelio's The Wonder (2022)? Second, how is conflict between science and religion represented in Sebastian Lelio's The Wonder (2022)? The researcher uses a qualitative method in answering the problem formulation. The theories and approaches used in this study are the semiotic theory of the Roland Barthes model, fanaticism, Christian Fanaticism, and the conflict between science and religion. This research includes data collection procedures and data analysis procedures. <p><em>This study is to find out the form of space presented in the short story written by Indra Tranggono entitled “Kisah Kota Kwon.” The study analyses the space, in this case is place and chaotic space to describe the opposition as inheritance of colonials. Although the short story has no direct relation with colonialism, yet by doing the study, the nation (colonial space) can be seen clearly. The method used in the study is descriptive qualitative. <p><em>This study aims to analyze how the deaf family affects the psychological of the major character in Coda (2021) and the major character's struggle to overcome her psychological condition in Coda (2021). The study uses a descriptive qualitative method to analyze the film entitled Coda, directed by Sian Heder and produced by Fabrice Gianfermi, Philippe Rousselet, Jerôme Seydoux, and Patrick Wachsberger in 2021 as the objective research. The collecting data of the research method includes watching and reading, identifying, and selecting. The data of the research method is displayed, analyzed, and explained. The researcher analyzes the data by using Sigmund Freud's theory of Psychoanalysis to analyze the data by displaying, explaining, and interpreting it. The result of the study are the representation of the deaf family's influence on the major character's psychology in the movie Coda (2021), the deaf family's influence on Ruby's psychology includes components such as id, ego, and super-ego. In addition, this study identifies various forms of anxiety and ego defense mechanisms experienced by Ruby; and the major character struggles to overcome her psychological condition. <p><em>This study conducted to analyze: (1) the turn-taking strategies used by the host to the guest stars, (2) the functions the use of turn-taking in the Daebak Show Season 3 podcast. This study used qualitative method to analyze the problem statements. The methods collecting data includes watching, transcribing, identifying, classifying and selecting data. The technique for analyzing data includes displaying, explaining, and concluding. The theories and approaches utilized by the researcher include Pragmatics, Conversation Analysis, and Turn-Taking. The findings of this study reveal that (1) three different types of strategies were identified in the podcast conversations are taking the turn, holding the turn, and yielding the turn, (2) The function that used in Daebak Show Season 3 are starting up, taking over, interrupting, filled pause and verbal fillers, silent pause, lexical repetition, new start, prompting and appealing strategy.</em></p> <p> </p>Atika Nurul AuliaCristina Christina
