Standardisation of Arabic in Islamic boarding schools has not used internationally accepted and recognized standards. This study analyzes the policy strategy of the Zam Zam Muhammadiyah Cilongok Islamic boarding school to set an international Arabic language standard in the form of TOAFL for final-year students. The research method uses qualitative with a grounded theory approach while the analysis uses design thinking and data analysis techniques with triangulation. The results showed that the TOAFL-based Arabic standardisation policy refers to the curriculum, resources, infrastructure, and cooperation carried out in improving the skills and excellence of students at the final level. The implications of research on the application of TOAFL-based Arabic standardisation in Islamic boarding schools will increase the excellence of students at the national and international levels.
Yuyun Rohmatul Uyuni Arbi Reonaldi Nurul Izzatie binti Aziz Haudh Al Maa'uun ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2024-12-30 2024-12-30 8 2 153 171 10.32699/liar.v8i2.7594 Arabic Language Education: A Comparative Study of Pedagogical Approaches in Modern and Traditional Islamic Boarding Schools https://ojs.unsiq.ac.id/index.php/liar/article/view/7693
Pesantren is one of the oldest educational institutions in Indonesia. Their availability can significantly impact the achievement of learning objectives and students' understanding of the material. This study aims to develop audio teaching materials based on a contextual approach for maharah istima’ expecially at MTsN 6 Ponorogo, as well as to describe how the integration of the contextual approach is implemented in the developed teaching materials. The research method used is a research and development method following the Borg and Gall development model. The data collection techniques employed include interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are Milles and Huberman's qualitative data analysis and descriptive quantitative data analysis. The results indicate that the development of teaching materials in this study is based on four student needs related to Arabic language learning. These four needs have been realized into audio-based teaching materials, complemented by a workbook to support maharah istima’ learning. Furthermore, aspects of real-life context in these teaching materials are integrated into four areas: media that align with the current context of technological development, materials and exercises that relate to students' real-life contexts, and learning activities that align with the seven principles of the contextual approach.
Sayyidaturrohimah Sayyidaturrohimah ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-01-04 2025-01-04 8 2 204 218 10.32699/liar.v8i2.8159 The Relational Meaning of The Word Jin in The Qur’an (Semantic Qur’an Toshihiko Izutsu) https://ojs.unsiq.ac.id/index.php/liar/article/view/7990
This research examines the relational meaning of the term Jin in the Qur’an using Toshihiko Izutsu's Quranic semantic theory. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed to analyze this concept from a linguistic perspective. Data were collected through a literature review of the Qur’an and commentaries by scholars such as Quraish Shihab and Ibn Kathir. The analysis highlights the varied meanings of Jin across different contexts in the Quran, identifying its relational connections with other words in the holy text. Findings reveal that Jin not only refers to unseen beings but also demonstrates aspects of concealment and secrecy in various forms. The implications of this research provide a deeper understanding of how the Qur’an employs words to convey complex contextual and relational meanings.
Salsabiela Syifa Anies Hisyam Zaini ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-01-08 2025-01-08 8 2 219 235 10.32699/liar.v8i2.7990 The Dynamics of Arabic Curriculum Transformation In Indonesia (Historical Studies and The Role of Globalization) https://ojs.unsiq.ac.id/index.php/liar/article/view/7989
This research examines the changes and development of the Arabic curriculum in Indonesia, especially in the context of historical influences and the impact of globalization. Historically, the Arabic curriculum in Indonesia has undergone various transformations influenced by political, social, and educational policy developments. The role of globalization further accelerates this dynamic by bringing new challenges, such as the need to master communication skills that are more contextual and relevant to the demands of the modern world. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method and historical analysis. The data used is obtained from previous literature sources related to the Arabic curriculum in Indonesia, as well as from current education policies. The purpose of this study is to understand the pattern of Arabic curriculum transformation, the factors that influence it, and how globalization shapes the development of the curriculum in the future. The results show that the transformation of the Arabic curriculum in Indonesia is not only determined by internal dynamics such as local needs, but also by external influences such as global changes in education and technology. This transformation reflects an attempt to answer the challenges of globalization while maintaining existing traditional values.
Alya putri septianti Ubaid Ridlo Maswani Maswani ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-01-08 2025-01-08 8 2 236 253 10.32699/liar.v8i2.7989 Tasmiimu Al- Wasaail At- Ta’limiyyah “FM Smart Finger” Fii Darsi Sharf Li-Tsanah At-Tsaaniyyah https://ojs.unsiq.ac.id/index.php/liar/article/view/7962
This study examines the challenges of learning shorof at Modern Islamic Boarding School Darussalam Gontor, Female Campus 2, where traditional teaching methods have led to less-than-optimal student outcomes.
